There’s no denying the party scene and nightlife in Manila have changed since 2020. Many of our favorite hangouts and food spots closed down during the pandemic. But there’s no need to shed more tears because two years after, it seems as though our lives are slowly getting back to normal. New bars, restos, and late-night haunts are opening, but more importantly, some of the oldies but goodies are also coming back. Take, for example, NoKal.

For those who may not be familiar, NoKal was once a hotspot in Kalayaan. Its bright neon pink sign would be the siren call to many a late-night party-goer looking for booze, good music, and the occasional midnight munchies. This three-story bar played host to many local talents and international DJs, making it one of the places to visit on a night out in Poblacion. But, when COVID-19 hit, the once-thriving spot had to close its doors. Alas, there’s no need to fret or feel bummed because Nokal is officially reopening starting tomorrow, October 26, at Basement 1 of Makati Cinema Square.
